Second Day Accomplishments of Khalifa Award Delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

As Khalifa Award delegation conclude their visit to Riyadh

The “Khalifa Award” delegation meets with academic and educational leaders to introduce the Kingdom to the award

The delegation of the General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award for Education wrapped up its visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia introducing the award’s 10 fields and 17 categories mandated on its 17th session that cover UAE, Arab region and the world.

The delegation consisted of Muhammad Salem Al Dhaheri, member of the Council of Trustees and head of the delegation, and two members of the Executive committee: Dr. Khaled Al Arbi and Hamid Ibrahim.

Al Dhaheri stressed the significance of this visit, which covered several educational and academic institutions related to the fields presented by the award. The award delegation visited Dr. Ali bin Marzouq Al-Ghamdi, Dean of the College of Education at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Dr. Muhammad Al-Khairi, Executive Director of the National Center for Evaluation and Training Accreditation at the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, and Engineer Sarhan Al-Wathinani, Executive Director of the King Abdulaziz Quality Award. The meetings with officials of these bodies touched on the mission and objectives of the Khalifa Award of Education and the areas presented in it for the current session, which include:  Distinguished Educational Personality, General Education, Education and Community Service, People of Determination, Creativity in Arabic language Teaching, Higher Education, Educational Research, Educational Authorship for Children, Innovative Educational Projects and Programs, and the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning, which includes: the Best Research and Studies category, and the Best Programs, Curricula, Teaching Methodologies and Practices category.

During these meetings, the award delegation also learned about the nature of work in these institutions, the excellence of the educational process followed, and the potential candidates who are keen to participate in the current session and other upcoming sessions. The award’s delegation expressed pride in the distinguished participations from the educational field and winners coming from the Kingdom since the award’s inception 16 years ago.

The award delegation had the chance to meet with Sheikh Nahyan bin Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri and the award delegation gave an introductory presentation about the mission and objectives of the award and its role in spreading the culture of excellence in the educational field locally and internationally. The delegation expressed heartily appreciation to the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates and its role in facilitating this visit to Riyadh.
