Khalifa Award for Education was founded in 2007 in the United Arab Emirates under the directives of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” The award seeks to advance Emirati and Arab educational outputs and standard of Education in all its levels by rewarding the outstanding innovators in numerous academic and learning domains.

The Award enjoys the esteemed patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and the kind guidance of H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khalifa Award for Education.

Based on the objectives of Khalifa Award for Education, that supports academic fields and motivates innovation in education, and as part of the Award’s quest to excel as an international award and assure its standard among the international awards, the award maintains such standards to discover outstanding individuals and educational practices at the local, regional, and Arab world levels.  It does so with the combined aims of promoting education, encouraging outstanding educators and enhancing innovative education practices.  It has now been recognised as a world-class Award in the field of education. As such, the Award seeks to take its well-deserved place at the forefront of reputable educational awards within the UAE and beyond.

Who We Are?

The Khalifa Award for Education is an International Education Award founded in the United Arab Emirates. The Award is intended to enhance the educational sector within the UAE, and throughout the Arab world at large, by honouring the distinguished efforts of educators in the various fields of teaching and specialised education. The Khalifa Award for Education enjoys full-fledged financial and administrative status.

The Award is headquartered in the city of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, where meetings of the Board, Executive Committee and Arbitration Committees are held. Other branches of the Award may be opened in other UAE cities, by a decision from the Board of Trustees, and some of the Board’s and Executive Committee’s meetings may be transferred to any of these cities.


The Award aims to promote the educational field in the UAE and the Arab world through encouraging and motivating creative and outstanding individuals working in the field. This could be achieved through:
