His Excellency Younes Al-Suhaimi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports in the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco, emphasized the exceptional nature of the relations between the two nations, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco. He highlighted that these ties are not only historical but also deeply rooted, encompassing various sectors that promote the mutual interests of both countries and their peoples, fostering goodness, development, and prosperity.

His Excellency expressed that the progress observed in the United Arab Emirates serves as a point of pride for all Arabs. He highlighted the strong ties that unite the two brotherly nations in the realm of education and national development. Furthermore, he acknowledged the significance and impact of the Khalifa Award for Education, recognizing it as a leading Emirati initiative aimed at enhancing education and fostering a culture of excellence both locally and globally.

This occurred during the reception hosted by His Excellency in his office in the capital, Rabat, for the delegation from the Award’s General Secretariat, which included the following: Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Khalifa Award for Education, Amal Al Afeefi, Secretary-General of the Award, Dr. Suad Al Suwaidi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Award, Dr. Khalid Al Abri, a member of the Executive Committee of the Award, and Hamid Ibrahim, a member of the Executive Committee of the Award, as part of the official visit that the award delegation is making to the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco to introduce the areas and categories of the award in the eighteenth session 2024-2025.

At the outset of the meeting, Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri emphasized the honor of this visit by the award’s delegation to the esteemed Kingdom of Morocco, a nation we deeply respect and cherish. He conveyed his utmost gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the esteemed monarch of the Kingdom of Morocco, and articulated his pride and honor in the fraternal ties that connect His Majesty to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State. The historical relations between these two sisterly countries serve as a commendable example for fostering unity and cooperation in Arab-Arab relations. Al Dhaheri stated, “We would like to express our gratitude to His Excellency the Minister for convening this meeting, which allows us to enhance our collaborative efforts between the award and the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports. This gathering also serves as a platform to convey the message and objectives of the award, as well as the various opportunities it presents at local, Arab, and international levels.

For her part, Amal Al-Afeefi presented a brief about the Award’s goals and showcased the fields presented in the eighteenth session, which includes 10 fields distributed over 17 categories covering various aspects of the education system in its university and pre-university branches, stressing the Award’s pride in the rich and distinguished participation from the Kingdom of Morocco. Al-Afeefi expressed sincere gratitude for the invaluable guidance extended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Award. His directives have enabled distinguished academics and educators from the Kingdom of Morocco to shine on the Award’s podiums, contributing significantly to the award’s esteemed status as a leading entity in specialized educational recognition at the state, regional, and global levels.

For her part, Dr. Suad Al Suwaidi stressed the importance of this visit and its role in expanding the awareness base of the education system in the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco while addressing the   Award’s message, objectives, proposed fields, nomination mechanisms, and specific criteria for each field. Building a familiarity with the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning field, which is considered one of the prominent fields worldwide was also a key point as this field aims to shed light on studies and research related to early childhood care, and apply the best scientific and applied practices in care and empowerment for this category.

Dr. Khalid Al-Abri gave a quick presentation on the Award’s efforts in spreading the culture of excellence in the educational field through the proposed fields and categories, indicating that the award primarily aims to spread excellence in the educational field, discover and nurture talents, shed light on innovative initiatives, programs and research projects that advance educational work in various educational stages, and monitor the positive impact and results of such distinguished works that the winners issue throughout various sessions.

Mr. Hamid Ibrahim pointed out that the Khalifa Award for Education has completed remarkable achievements in terms of its prestigious position as a specialized award in educational excellence at the locally and globally, as the Award prioritizes on absolute transparency in dealing with the files of candidates in the stages of sorting, evaluation and arbitration, ending with the stage of proficiency in work and its approval for winning. The entire process is based on transparency, objectivity, uniqueness of the work submitted and the completion of the elements that qualify it to be a model to be emulated in the field.

During the meeting, Mr. Hamid provided a quick overview of the award’s efforts in developing its electronic platforms through a comprehensive website through which the candidate can interact with the Award around the clock, and a specialized team responds to the candidate’s inquiries and provides the necessary technical support to him and enables him to upload the file electronically with accuracy and speed. These stages continue in the sorting, evaluation and arbitration processes.

On the other hand, the delegation of the General Secretariat of the Award met Thani Al Rumaithi, the Acting Chargé d’Affaires, during their visit to the UAE Embassy in the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco. During the meeting, they provided him with an introductory overview of the message and objectives of the Award and the areas proposed in the current session. The delegation expressed its appreciation for the efforts of the Embassy in supporting the Award’s journey.

The meeting concluded with the members of the delegation presenting the Khalifa Award for Education shield to His Excellency the Minister in appreciation of his support for the Award and also presented a commemorative shield in appreciation of the Embassy’s efforts in making the delegation’s mission a success during its visit to the Kingdom.
