“Khalifa Award”: Teachers pioneering efforts are remarkable in building generations and advancing the nation

The General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award for Education stressed the teacher’s ever vital role in nurturing generations, contributing to the renaissance of societies and nations, inspiring thought and knowledge while combating ignorance and illiteracy, and drawing a bright future for all humanity.
The General Secretariat further pointed to the vital role that the teacher plays today in developing the education system locally, regionally and internationally within a comprehensive framework of the scientific, technical and cognitive developments that the era is witnessing.
This came during the dialogue session organized by the General Secretariat today on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, entitled “The Creative Teacher, Sustaining Excellence,” in the presence of Amal Al-Afifi, Secretary-General of the Khalifa Award for Education, and in which Khawla Al-Suwaidi, Director of the Al Ain Center at the Family Development Foundation, and Muhammad Al-Hosni, Director of Nitaq, spoke. At the Emirates Foundation for School Education, the session was moderated by Dr. Sheikha Al Tunaiji, Member of the Federal National Council, and the session was witnessed by a number of academic leaders across UAE educational institutions.
At the beginning of the session, Dr. Sheikha Al-Tunaiji said: We celebrate Teacher’s Day in appreciation of their distinguished role in raising the children of society on Arab and Islamic values and customs, and enhancing the ambition of our children to search for the best findings of science in all fields. Technology does not replace the presence of the teacher and the nationalism and aspirational values they teach. Teachers pan the emirates open doors of knowledge and culture and urge their students to be creative and diligent in order to obtain the highest degrees of knowledge in the various specializations. We celebrate the educator who is continuously developing their skills and knowledge to be worthy of the responsibility and the message they carry. Such valuable educators deserve the utmost appreciation and salutations.
Khawla Al Suwaidi pointed out that the UAE government attaches great importance to the role of the teacher who creates a conscious and educated generation, carrying authentic national values and humanitarian principles, and capable of innovation and contributing to the development of society. Therefore, the importance of this community participation in the celebrations of World Teacher’s Day, which falls on October 5th every year, in an effort to instil concepts that enhance teacher appreciation in the minds of students and various segments of society.
Al Suwaidi emphasized that the mission and objectives of the Khalifa Award for Education have gained impressive respect from the educational field and the society in general. As its role in spreading the culture of excellence among teachers and the various elements of the educational process, in addition to recognising the vital teachers’ roles and efforts in developing the educational course in the past, present and future.
Mohammed Al Hosani states: “The United Arab Emirates celebrates with the world today International Teacher’s Day. The UAE is proud of the distinguished position of the teacher and its leadership in society. Today, the Khalifa Award for Education participates in International Teacher’s Day to celebrate the value of science and the status of scholars in the lives of nations, to provide cultural evidence that science and knowledge The pillar of every civilization and the slogan of its survival and continuation.”
He added, “Honouring the standing of teachers as disseminators of science and knowledge is an indicator of the lives and awareness of peoples and a declaration of the humanity of their values. Drawing on this point, came the legislation and laws enacted by the state to enable the teacher to perform their mission and duty in building generations. The wise leadership provided all support and empowerment and created for them an environment conducive to leadership, whether inside or outside the educational institution. The teacher represents the cornerstone of the renaissance of education, the pillar of its development, and one of its most prominent elements in development and modernization since the inception of the union, a goal the wise government has made great efforts to achieve. To this distinguished educational model of the Emirati school, which is proud of the presence of qualified and prominent national cadres of male and female teachers who continue day and night with creativity and pioneering work in building the student personality instilling pride in their national identity, and cultural heritage, as well as looking forward to keeping pace with the times. Today, we congratulate the teachers in our dear homeland on this occasion and call on Their hands expressed their appreciation and gratitude for their creative efforts in building generations and supporting the nation’s renaissance.”
