The General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award for Education launched the Applied Excellence Workshops program for the 19th session (2025-2026). The workshops will continue until September 20th, covering the introduction of 10 fields with their 17 sub-categories across various aspects of university and pre-university education, in addition to the Distinguished Educational Personality, as well as the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning field, which is offered internationally to highlight the most prominent practices in the care and empowerment of early childhood.

Humaid Al Houti, Secretary-General of the Khalifa Award for Education, highlighted how the Applied Excellence Workshops Program bridges communication through all academic arenas, as the program is designed to facilitate exchanging expertise and experiences, via sharing and discussing distinguished initiatives and projects presented by winners of previous sessions, both at the individual and institutional levels.

A wide range of academic and administrative leaders, as well as faculty members, involved in the fields presented in the current session are participating in these workshops. Al Houti explained that the workshop program, which was launched yesterday, included three workshops that were organized remotely and witnessed a great turnout from participants and potential candidates for the current session, which reflects the Award’s status and leadership at the forefront of specialized educational awards at the national, regional, and international levels.

The workshops program yesterday included a workshop on the General Education Field highlighting the “Creative Teacher” category, in which Dr. Samira Al Nuaimi and Mustafa Al Yahyaei delivered touching on the objectives of this category and its role in highlighting creativity in the teacher’s career, especially in light of the modern era witnessing the use of artificial intelligence tools in the educational process at all its stages. Moderators shed light on the necessity for teachers to be familiar with advanced technical skills in this regard.

Simultaneously, Dr. Mohammed Bani Yas and Dr. Hassan Al-Badawi also spoke at the Higher Education Field workshop, which included a definition of a university professor as anyone working in the field of teaching and scientific research at various higher education institutions, whether private or public, in various disciplines, recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education within the United Arab Emirates, or the Ministry of Higher Education in the country from which the candidate is applying. This field is specific to university professors who teach academic courses and does not include deans of colleges, heads of departments, or administrators whose work is limited to administrative tasks of any kind.

Furthermore, Dr. Majdi Ben Souf and Mahra Al Nuaimi moderated the workshop on Innovation in Arabic Language Teaching Field. Apart from highlighting the significance of this field in strengthening national identity and consolidating students’ mastery of Arabic-related skills, moderators also emphasized the best academic and applied practices that enable the mother tongue to keep pace with today’s scientific and technological developments. A demonstration followed, focusing on target groups in this field, which include: distinguished teachers teaching Arabic in public education in the UAE, innovative university professors teaching Arabic in the UAE, and notable university professors teaching Arabic in the Arab world.
