In a session between the United Arab Emirates and the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco, His Excellency Abdul Latif Al-Mirawi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation in Morocco, expressed his pride in the strong cooperation relations between educational and academic institutions in both countries. He noted that these relations reflect the unique and historical status of the long-standing relations between the two sisterly nations, which have witnessed daily progress and prosperity in all areas.

His Excellency expressed his appreciation for the role and message of the Khalifa Award for Education, as well as its outstanding contributions in advancing the educational process at all local, regional, and international levels, through this forward-looking vision of the award, which is based on spreading excellence in the educational system at all its stages, enabling the various elements of the educational process to interact with scientific and technological developments wit This occurred during His Excellency’s reception of the delegation from the General Secretariat of the Award at his office in Rabat. The delegation included Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, a member of the Khalifa Award for Education’s Board of Trustees; Amal Al Afeefi, Secretary-General of the Award; Dr. Suad Al Suwaidi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Award; Dr. Khalid Al Abri, a member of the Award’s Executive Committee; and Hamid Ibrahim, a member of the Award’s Executive Committee.

At the onset of the meeting, Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri expressed the delegation members’ gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency the Minister for this hosting, which allowed the Award delegation to introduce the message and objectives of the Khalifa Award for Education and its role in advancing the educational field in its various academic and educational stages, pointing out that the Award, since its launch in 2007, has represented a qualitative leap in terms of enriching the learning environment, whether in the United Arab Emirates or the Arab world, as well as at the global level, through the fields and categories offered by the award that enhance the culture of excellence among the various elements of the educational process.

Amal Al-Afeefi highlighted that the Khalifa Award for Education, during her visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, reflects its pride and appreciation for the exceptional contributions from teachers, university professors, and community organizations involved in educational matters. She expressed gratitude for all participants and winners who excelled in the various sessions of the Award from Morocco. Additionally, she acknowledged the support of His Excellency the Minister in promoting the award’s efforts and broadening the awareness of its fields and categories for the upcoming eighteenth session in 2024-2025.

During the meeting, Dr. Suad Al Suwaidi gave a quick presentation of the fields offered in the current session, and focused on the field of Higher Education, which includes the category of distinguished university professor, which aims to shed light on the prominent contributions by university professors, academics and researchers in the education sector, in addition to the field of Educational Research, the field of Educational Authorship for children, and also the field of Innovative Educational Projects and Programs. These are all fields that cover the Higher Education organism, and faculty members in universities and research centers can nominate their projects during the current and upcoming sessions of the Award.

Dr. Khalid Al Abri pointed out that the Khalifa Award for Education has provided a broad base of fields and categories in which talented and distinguished members of administrative and teaching bodies in educational institutions, higher institutes, universities, research centers and community institutions can participate, nominate for the Award, and shed light on their creativity and distinguished experiences that can be emulated in the educational and academic field.

Mr. Hamid Ibrahim touched on his part, on the role of the Award in enhancing and fusing the use of advanced technology and artificial intelligence tools in the educational process by making artificial intelligence one of the main axes in evaluating the work of candidates, which encourages them to employ advanced technical methods in the educational process, and to launch initiatives and projects that serve the educational field and advance it in light of the technological and applied changes witnessed by the education sector in its university and pre-university sectors.

The meeting concluded with delegation presenting the Award shield to His Excellency the Minister in appreciation of his efforts in supporting the Award’s journey.
