His Excellency Professor Azmi, Governor of the Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, stressed the enormous role of the Khalifa Award for Education plays in establishing a culture of excellence in the educational field at various stages of the educational process, expressing his pride in the mission and objectives of the award and the diversity of its fields, as well as the good impact it achieves on the level of discovering and nurturing distinguished talents from various elements of the educational process since the beginning of its journey in the year 2007.

His Excellency praised the excellence of the participation in the educational field in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the various sessions of the award and their topping of the podiums in various fields, which translates the development of the education system in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, its excellence, and its keeping pace with the best international practices.

This came during His Excellency’s reception in the Jordanian capital, Amman, of the delegation of the General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award for Education, which included: Muhammad Salem Al Dhaheri, member of the Board of Trustees, Amal Al Afifi, Secretary -General of the Award, Dr. Souad Al Suwaidi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Award, and Dr. Jamila Khanji, member of the Executive Committee. This official visit by the delegation to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan aims to introduce the areas of the award proposed at its 17th session.

At the beginning of the meeting, Muhammad Salem Al Dhaheri declared,“ Today, as Khalifa Award for Education’s General Secretariat, we are honoured to be on a visit dear to our hearts to the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, for which we hold all the love and appreciation, and at the beginning of this visit we address the highest verses of gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty. King Abdullah II, King of Jordan, expressing our pride and honour in the fraternal relations that link His Majesty with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, we value immensely these ancient roots deep in history between the leadership and peoples of our two brotherly countries.

We also extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for making this meeting happen, as it indicates support for the path of the Khalifa Award for Education and its role in advancing education locally and internationally.”

Al-Dhaheri added, “The Khalifa Educational Award presents ten areas distributed into 17 categories covering various areas of the educational process. This award, which is considered an Emirati national initiative that has succeeded in achieving a qualitative leap in the process of quality educational performance in the educational field.”

Al Dhaheri highlighted the participation and contributions of our brothers in the Kingdom in the various sessions of the award, and we always look forward to them continuing this distinction and commemorated via the Khalifa Award, which we are all honoured to have as His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Office is the Chairman of its Board of Trustees.

Amal Al-Afifi also stated, “Over the past 16 years, the award has succeeded in providing the educational field all over the world with distinguished categories of winners in the various fields presented in its sessions. At the level of the UAE and the Arab world, (521) male and female winners have won, and we are also proud of the participation of brothers from the Kingdom of Jordan. The Hashemite Prize, where 57 male and female winners won in various fields and categories of the award, whether at the local level of the UAE or at the level of the Arab world.”

​ Al-Afifi pointed out the importance of this visit in expanding the awareness base of the educational field in the Kingdom of Jordan about the objectives and mission of the award and the fields presented therein, as the Khalifa Award represents one of the most prominent specialized educational awards at the regional and international levels.

For her part, Dr. Souad Al Suwaidi gave a quick presentation on the proposed fields, nomination mechanisms, and specific criteria for each field, in addition to the field of the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning, which is considered one of the prominent fields in highlighting studies and research on early childhood care at the global level.

During the meeting, Dr. Jamila Khanji touched on the award’s keenness to develop the nomination mechanisms, the screening of applications, and the arbitration process for the nominated works, all of which are conducted electronically and within a comprehensive framework of objectivity and transparency that is based on the excellence of the nominated works and their positive impact in the educational field. The award developed its website and electronic platforms in a way that enhances All candidates interacted with the areas presented in the current session.

The delegation of the General Secretariat of the Award also visited the King Abdullah II School of Excellence, one of the gifted centers in the Kingdom, and met Iman Abdel Jawad in the school building in the Sahab area. The members of the delegation learned about the role of this school and its mission in discovering student talents and nurturing them throughout their academic career. The delegation also met Dr. Nawaf Al-Ajarmah, Secretary-General for Educational Affairs at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education. The delegation reviewed with him the prospects for joint cooperation. During the meeting, members of the delegation gave a comprehensive presentation on the mission and objectives of the award and the areas proposed for the session. The delegation continued its meetings with Dr. Yasser Al-Omari, Director of the Educational Planning and Research Department in the Research and Development Directorate of the Ministry of Education. The two sides deliberated and conversed regarding joint cooperation mechanisms.
