With an impressive turnout of candidates from a wide range of academic disciplines, the General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award For Education, an institution of the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy, has announced the commencement of the screening process of the candidates’ applications for the Award’s eighteenth session (2025). The fact that applications were received from more than 48 countries worldwide is a testament to the esteemed reputation of the award on a local, regional, and global scale.

His Excellency Humaid Al-Houti, ​​Secretary-General of the Award, confirmed that the current session witnessed a great turnout from the educational and academic fields, both inside and outside the country, where field professionals are encouraged to nominate and compete for leadership and excellence in the fields offered in the current session, which are 10 fields, namely: the Distinguished Educational Personality, General Education, Education and Community Service, People of Determination, Creativity in Teaching the Arabic Language, Higher Education, Educational Research, Educational Authorship for Children, Innovative Educational Projects and Programs, and the field of the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning, which includes: the research and studies category, and the programs, curricula, teaching methodologies and practices category. The above-mentioned fields are distributed over 17 categories covering various aspects of the educational process.

The Secretary-General of the Award explained that the number of candidates for the current session is large and diverse, covering different geographical regions from all over the world, which reflects the distinction, leadership and positive impact of the Award on education locally and internationally. The Award’s application system received candidates’ files from countries such as:  The United States, the United Kingdom, China, Argentina, Egypt, Morocco, Eritrea, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Hungary, Tunisia, Lebanon, Libya, Syria, the Republic of Serbia, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Canada, Algeria, Afghanistan, and other countries around the world, This emphasizes the Award’s global reach and commitment to its message and role in contributing to the growth of the education system, as well as its support for the forward-thinking vision of this critical sector.

 

Regarding the mechanisms for sorting the candidates’ works, H.E Humaid Al-Houti confirmed that the sorting process is carried out according to standards based on absolute transparency, objectivity, excellence, and assuring that nominated works meet the concepts of innovation and creativity. In addition, submitted applications must employ advanced technology and artificial intelligence in the educational environment; the extent to which these nominated works benefit from that environment and improve their quality reflects the distinction and leadership of the outcomes of the educational process.

 

Dr. Al-Houti further explained that the screening committees consist of a group of specialists who study the candidates’ files according to each field or category to which this file was submitted, and according to the time plan for the current session, upon completion of the sorting and arbitration processes, the names of the winners will be announced next April.
