During its visit to the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the delegation of the General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award for Education discussed the prospects for joint cooperation with the University of Jordan in the capital, Amman. The two sides discussed mechanisms for the participation of faculty members and researchers at the university in the proposed fields of its 17th session. Ten fields are offered on the local and Arab levels include: Distinguished Educational Personality, General education, Education and Community Service, People of Determination, Creativity in Arabic Language Teaching, Higher Education, Educational Research, Educational Authorship for Children, Innovative Educational Projects and Programs. Moreover, introducing the second session of Khalifa International Award for Early Learning Field that includes: The Best Research and Studies category, and the Best Programs, Curricula, Teaching Methodologies and Practices category.

The award delegation included:  Muhammad Salem Al Dhaheri, member of the Board of Trustees, Amal Al Afifi, Secretary-General of the Award, Dr. Souad Al Suwaidi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Award, and Dr. Jameela Khanji, member of the Award’s Executive Committee, held an extensive meeting in the Ahmed Al Lawzi Auditorium at King Abdullah II College. Information Technology at the University of Jordan, attended by Dr. Muhammad Al-Zyoud, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan, and several administrative and teaching leaders at the university.

During the meeting, Al-Zyoud welcomed the delegation of the Khalifa Award for Education, expressing the University of Jordan’s contentment in the cooperation between the two sides. Al- Zyoud expressed appreciation towards the award’s efforts and its mission in spreading the culture of excellence in the educational field, stressing that the University of Jordan is replete with distinguished teaching and research competencies who can nominate for this prestigious award in its various fields.

Muhammad Salem Al Dhaheri stressed during the meeting that the delegation’s visit to the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan achieved positive results in terms of expanding the awareness base regarding the role of the award, its mission and its objectives. During the meeting, Al Dhaheri presented a comprehensive picture of the mission and objectives of the Khalifa Award for education and its role in spreading excellence in the educational field, both its university and other parts. Dr. Jamila Khanji stressed that the processes of sorting and evaluating the nominated works are carried out with absolute transparency and comprehensive objectivity based on the axis of excellence that should be in the nominated work, and this is a translation of the award’s message and its goals in spreading excellence in the educational field, as well as discovering and nurturing talents and presenting qualitative, creative initiatives and projects. On the side-lines of the visit, the delegation met with Khaled Al Ali, Acting Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the award delegation gave an introductory presentation about the mission and objectives of the award and its role in spreading the culture of excellence in the educational field locally and internationally.
