Dr. Mohamed Othman Al-Khasht, President of Cairo University, stressed the exceptional and distinguished ties between the United Arab Emirates and the Arab Republic of Egypt, noting that these relations are historical and deeply entrenched in the affection shared by the two countries throughout the ages. Education wise, the Khalifa Award for Education expresses profound gratitude and its close cooperation with Cairo University to serve local, regional and international education processes.
Dr. Al-Khasht states that the Khalifa Award for Education is a pioneering Emirati initiative that anticipates the future and draws a map of excellence in educational and academic performance that would place all elements of the educational process on the ladder of excellence in the various educational stages, which ultimately reflects on the brilliance of the education system in keeping with the times, anticipating the future of humanity.
This occurred during Dr. Muhammad Othman Al-Khasht’s reception at the Grand Celebration Hall of Cairo University welcoming the Khalifa Award delegation official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt. Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, member of the Board of Trustees, leads the delegation. Delegation also consisted of Amal Al-Afifi, Secretary-General of the Award, and Dr. Suad Al-Suwaidi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Award, and Dr. Khaled Al-Abri, member of the Executive Committee of the Award, the meeting was attended by Dr. Muhammad Al-Attar, Vice President for Research Affairs and postgraduate studies, deans of faculties, and Dr. Rehab Mahmoud, coordinator of the award in Egypt.
Dr. Muhammad Othman Al-Khasht stated at the beginning of the meeting that the United Arab Emirates has a special place in the hearts of Egyptians, which was established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, whose love has spread throughout the hearts of Egyptians of all generations. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and his brother, His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Al-Khasht praised the message, role and objectives of the Khalifa Award for Education, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Award, was keen to This award is at the forefront of specialized international awards.
Al-Khasht explained that Cairo University includes 275,000 male and female students distributed over 26 faculties covering various scientific and applied disciplines and humanities, in addition to more than 6,000 faculty members and other researchers and academics who’s scientific and research contributions constitute a qualitative addition to the Khalifa Award process.
For his part, Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri appreciated the close cooperation of Cairo University with the Khalifa Award for Education, stressing the award’s interest in expanding this cooperation in various fields that serve the education process and enhance the award’s message in spreading excellence in the educational field locally, regionally, and internationally.
During the meeting, Amal Al-Afifi touched on the role of the award, its mission, objectives, and the fields presented during the sixteenth session 2022/2023, especially the field of the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning, which was presented by the award for the first time in the world, noting the award’s pride in the contributions presented by the various elements of the educational process in Egypt. Which recorded 116 male and female winners since the launch of the award in 2007 and pointed out that the award has completed a comprehensive development of its smart platforms and website in order to enhance communication around the clock with the candidates, winners and various workers in the educational field, in addition to issuing the award for 46 winning works since the launch of the award dissemination process in the educational field.
For her part, Dr. Suad Al-Suwaidi addressed the message and objectives of the field of the Khalifa International Award for Early Education and urged academic leaders and researchers specialized in the field of childhood and early education at Cairo University to run for this field, especially in light of the presence of two specialized faculties at Cairo University concerned with childhood studies and early education for this category, and she explained that launching The scope of the Khalifa International Award embodies the leadership of the United Arab Emirates and its outlook for the future for this vital category and the provision of an environment that enhances their creativity.
During the meeting, Dr. Khaled Al-Abri presented an explanation of the criteria and rules governing the nomination mechanism for the fields presented in the Khalifa Award for Education for the current session, which numbered 10 fields distributed over 17 categories. He touched on the specificity oregionally,ld and its connection with the objectives of spreading the culture of excellence in the educational field, indicating that the award undertakes the process of communication with Candidates and receiving their applications electronically, sorting and evaluating them by a team of specialized arbitrators is of great importance based on absolute transparency in selecting the winning works, which raises the excellence of performance and quality in the education environment locally, regionally and internationally.
While Dr. Muhammad Al-Attar presented a comprehensive overview on the mechanisms of cooperation between Cairo University and the Khalifa Award for Education, pointing out that the university includes scientific elites of researchers and academics in various scientific disciplines, which enriches the process of the award and enhances its role and mission, especially in light of the existence of a wide base of distinguished scientific research at Cairo University. In the disciplines of education, humanities, childhood, environment, sustainability, and related community initiatives that serve people in general.
At the end of the meeting, the award delegation presented a commemorative shield to the university president, who presented the delegation with the university shield in appreciation of the relations and cooperation between the two sides.
