Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University in the Arab Republic of Egypt, stressed the importance of the role and mission of the Khalifa Award for Education in establishing an academic and educational culture of excellence among the various elements of the educational process at the local, Arab and international levels, indicating the pride of Ain Shams University in close cooperation with the award that bears a name dear to our hearts In Egypt, in supplying the education process with talents and creative cadres of distinguished researchers who constituted a rich addition to scientific research and university teaching in various disciplines, including a number of winners from Ain Shams University.

This came during the reception of the President of Ain Shams University for the delegation of the Khalifa Award for Education, headed by Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, member of the Board of Trustees of the Award, Amal Al Afifi, Secretary General of the Award, Dr. University vice-presidents, deans of faculties, and a group of academics, researchers, and students.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini praised the historical relations that bind the two countries, which extended for more than half a century, since the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, laid the amicable foundations. May God rest his soul in peace. “Loving goodness and solidarity, uniting the Arab ranks and always working for the benefit of man. This is an approach through which it presented the world with a unique model for a modern state that raises the status of science and scholars and steps every day in its path towards prosperity, innovation, and progress that we are all proud of.

He pointed out that Ain Shams University includes 19 colleges with 200,000 undergraduate students, in addition to thousands of students from diploma, master’s and doctoral studies, which makes it an important center for close cooperation with the Khalifa Award for Education in its fields, whether in this or future sessions.

For his part, Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri stressed the keenness of the award to spread excellence and establish a pioneering system for the quality of educational performance in the various stages of the educational process, whether in university or pre-university education, and to open horizons of creativity for research teams, academics and institutions that provide creative and innovative visions for the advancement of education.

Amal Al-Afifi reviewed the development witnessed by the award since its inception in 2007 and emphasized the role and mission of the award as a pioneering platform to encourage workers in the educational and academic fields to excel. Khalifa International for Early Learning (the category of research and studies, the category of programs, curricula, teaching methodologies and practices), the field of general education (the category of creative teacher, the category of institutional educational performance), the field of higher education (the category of distinguished university professor), and the field of people of determination (the category of individuals and the category of institutions and centers), the field of education and community service (the category of institutions, the category of distinguished Emirati families), the field of creativity in teaching Arabic (the category of distinguished university professor), the field of educational research (the category of educational research, the category of research on child literature studies), and the field of educational authorship for children (category of educational innovations) and the field of innovative educational projects and programs (category of individuals, category of institutions, and category of students).

For her part, Dr. Suad Al-Suwaidi spoke about the scope of the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning, which was presented by the award with the aim of supporting early childhood and upgrading the initiatives and practices provided for this category, noting that there will be close cooperation between the award and Ain Shams University, especially in light of the presence of a number of distinguished centers and colleges in the university, which She deals with childhood and early childhood affairs, which allows for many axes of joint cooperation between the two sides. She added that the award adopted the stages of performance from receiving the applications of the candidates electronically until the results appeared in a framework of objectivity and transparency that preserves excellence’s status and leadership, and the award is proud of the distinguished who topped the podiums. In various fields, we have an advanced website and smart applications that make communication with the candidates and the various elements of the field effective and smooth. There are specialists in the award who provide technical support and guidance to the candidates, enabling them to upload their files electronically to the site.

Dr. Khaled Al-Abri said that the Khalifa Award for Education is a pioneering national initiative that aims to spread excellence in the educational and academic field, whether at the level of the UAE, the Arab world, and the world, and it is keen within its mission to translate pioneering initiatives and projects in supporting the process of advancing education and enhancing its keeping pace with the scientific development that the age is witnessing.
