Sixteenth Session Winners Announcement by H.H Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed

On its 16th session, Khalifa Awards honours 41 winner

Mansour bin Zayed: Education is the foundation that the “next fifty” will erly upon.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Khalifa Award for Education, affirmed that the education sector in the United Arab Emirates is placed on the highest regards due to the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, The Head of State, “may God protect him”, who views education as the cornerstone of human development and the main pillar in the renaissance project that the country is witnessing.

His Highness said: “The education system in the country records outstanding achievements every day in terms of caring for the elements of the educational process, including students, teachers, school leaders, curricula, programs, teaching plans, and infrastructure that promote creativity, leadership, and innovation, in accordance with the best international practices applied in advanced education systems in the world.”

His Highness affirmed the pioneering role played by the “Khalifa Award for Education” in spreading the culture of excellence in the educational field locally, regionally and internationally. Since its inception in 2007 it leveled up the quality of education performance in different university schools and academic institutions. Nonetheless, The Khalifa Award for Education continuously offers support and motivation to various workers in the field and community institutions related to educational affairs.

He said, “The addition of (early education) to the areas of the award, for the first time this year, is an indication of the care and attention witnessed by the childhood and early education sector in the United Arab Emirates by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State,” may God protect him. And His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him”, and Their Highnesses the members of the Supreme Council of the Federation, the rulers of the Emirates, as the UAE pays great attention to this sector through an advanced system of legislation We hope that the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning will contribute to transferring the Emirati model of early childhood care to the world, and shedding light on the most prominent experiences, research and specialized studies in this field worldwide.”

This came in a statement by His Highness on the occasion of honoring the winners of the “Khalifa Award for Education” in its sixteenth session 2023, in a ceremony held today at the “Emirates Palace” in Abu Dhabi, under his generous patronage, and in the honor of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Khalifa Award for Education, who honored the 41 winners, male and female, 25 of whom were at the local level, 12 at the level of the Arab world, and 4 at the international level. This year, the Distinguished Educational Personality Field is won businessman Mr. Abdullah Ahmed Al Ghurair, founder of the “Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation.” “; This is in appreciation of his outstanding efforts and contributions in improving the education system at the local, regional and international levels.

The award ceremony was attended by His Excellency Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Advisor to the President of the State, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education, His Excellency Sarah Awad Issa Muslim, Minister of State for Early Education and Head of the Department of Education and Knowledge, His Excellency Zaki Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, The Chancellor of the UAE University, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain, member of the Board of Trustees of the Award, Naima Al Mansouri, member of the Federal National Council, Muhammad Salem Al Dhaheri, member of the Board of Trustees of the Khalifa Award for Education, and Mubarak Al Shamsi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Education Center technical and vocational training, Mrs. Amal Al-Afifi, Secretary General of the Khalifa Award for Education, and a number of educational officials in the country.

The celebration activities began with the arrival of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, after which verses from the Holy Quran were recited, then a short introductory film was featured showing the accomplishments and opportunities created by the award since 2007 and its role in spreading excellence in the educational field.
