“Khalifa Award”: Great interest in the award’s message and objectives in Bahrain
Amal Al-Afifi: Enhancing joint- cooperation between the award and educational and academic institutions to spread the culture of excellence

The delegation of the General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award for Education concluded its visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain where they conducted a few field visits to the Gifted Students Care Center, the Child and Maternity Care Society, Bahrain Bayan School, and Sheikha Mozah Bint Hamad Al Khalifa Comprehensive School for Girls. During these visits, the delegation provided a practical presentation of the award’s message and objectives as well as the subjects presented during the sixteenth session, which includes 10 fields distributed over 17 categories.
Amal Al-Afifi emphasized the significance of this tour, which included meetings with a number of official educational and academic authorities, as well as discussions with those concerned in the educational field in order to introduce the award nomination mechanism for the fields offered. Al-Afifi expressed gratitude towards the Bahraini entities’ hospitality towards the delegation and their utmost anticipation and interest of Bahraini educators and institutions to run for the award in this session or future sessions.
According to Al-Afifi, the award delegation final tour included a visit to the Center for Gifted Students, where the delegation met Amal Abdullah Al-Kaabi, Acting Director of the Community Partnership Department, who provided the award delegation with a comprehensive overview of the center’s role, objectives, and programs aimed at caring for the gifted. The delegation also met Sheikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa, president of the Child and Mother Welfare Association, who discussed with the delegation joint cooperation, especially with regard to the areas presented in the Khalifa Award for Education, including the field of educational writing for children, as well as the field of the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning.
The delegation also visited Bahrain’s Bayan School and met with Sheikha Aseel bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Head of the Educational Committee in Schools, who discussed with the delegation members the promotion of joint cooperation between the two sides in order to advance education in the two countries. The delegation had the chance to view the Zayed Future Energy award winning project that is under The Global High School category and promotes the use of renewable energy and sustainability.
The delegation also visited Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Hamad Al Khalifa Comprehensive School for Girls, where Aisha Nasser Al Nuaimi, the school principal, presented the delegation members with a comprehensive picture of the school’s learning environment and the educational projects and initiatives available.
Amal Al-Afifi said that the Khalifa Award for Education is proud of the positive results achieved during this visit, which will support the message of the award and its spread in the neighborly Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as achieving the goals of the award in spreading the culture of excellence in the educational field.
