Amal Afifi: Since the foundation of Khalifa Awards, Women top coronation podiums.
The General Secretariat, Khalifa Award for Education, stressed the fact that the United Arab Emirates has created a unique model of the Emarati Woman who takes pride in her identity and the achievement of her wise leadership ; a woman who possesses scope and stays up-to-date with technological and academic interaction and interdependence. The award further stressed that the Emarati woman possesses a distinguished status, locally and regionally, as a result of the support of the wise leadership and the direct concern in the procession of the Emarati Woman to ensure an atmosphere of Reinforcement that enables innovation, leadership and social distinction.
This was stated during the virtual dialogue session organized by the General Secretariat of the Award to mark the Emarati Woman Day, in the presence of Mrs. Amal Al Afifi, the General Secretary and the distinguished speakers Naama Al Mansoori, member of the National Federal Council, Khawla Ahmed Alhosani, Director – Training & Professional Development, Aisha Yousef Al Ali, Senior Investor Relations Analyst in The Abu Dhabi Municipality City, and Hamad Abdulrahman Alaydaroos, Abu Dhabi Youth Council Member at Federal Youth Authority. The session was composed and directed by Khawla Al Suwaidi, Manager of Al Ain center at the Family Development Foundation and arbitrator for the category Institutional Leaning Performance at the Award’s General Secretariat.
Respected Amal Al Afifi commenced the session by assuring that the support granted by the wise leadership for the Emarati woman has empowered her to stamp a distinctive status for herself in the history of Women’s achievements worldwide. This is reflected in the Emarati Woman’s outstanding contributions in the progress of national development and her participation hand in hand with Men for the advancement and prosperity of the motherland.
It was important here to also stress, by Mrs. Al Afifi, the ability of the Emarati Woman to maintain the trust entrusted to her by her wise leadership and to show innovation in all aspects of life, social and academic, ascending the ladder of glory while preserving her identity and traditions, with full pride of her nation’s acquisitions , daily providing a new modern model of positive development in serving the homeland.
Mrs. A Afifi also commented that the Woman secures one of the strongest pillars in the successful development of the Award, through her positive contribution as a candidate and further a winner, in addition to her pertaining on the committee of coordinators, arbitrators and assessors. The Emarati and Arabian woman, she continued, are considered a role model and a cornerstone in the development of Education locally and regionally, as well as main pioneer contributors in all aspects of life. Mrs. Al Afifi ended her participation quoting the late father of the nation H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, on the topic, “ The woman is half of the society. Any country that pursues development, should not leave women in poverty or illiterarcy”.
In her turn, Mrs. Khawla Al Suwaidi started the session by stressing that the Emarati Woman Day is a special event for all women at the United Arab Emirates, as it sheds light on the unique status of the Emarati Woman in various fields and her active role of sacrifice and persistence in raising generations and serving the country. It is important here to mention that the Emarati Woman Day coincides with the foundation of the Women’s union in 1975, a fact that sets it as the official representative of the Emarati Woman, established per the recommendations of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the mother of the nation, the President of the Woman Federation , President of the Family Development Foundation, Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Childhood and Motherhood and the lady of vision in assuring that the Emarati woman is well appreciated and supported by the wise leadership.
On her part, Mrs. Naema Abdulrahman Almansoori, member of the Federal National Council and Director of the Blind Management, confirmed that the support of the UAE’s wise leadership and H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the mother of the nation, to the Emarati woman, has allowed the women of the nation, equipped with determination, strong will and persistence, to excel as active partners in the journey of continuous development in the country, in all aspects and fields, marking an achievement after the other in all fields .Mrs. Al Mansoori also affirmed that H.H. Sheikh Khalifa (MAPH), leads the journey of empowerment of women in all aspects and fields in general and in politics in particular, a fact that allowed women the right for voting and for being members of the federal National Council. The raise of the percentage of women representatives to 50% during the current 17th legislative season assures the support of the wise leadership to the empowerment of emarati women and affirms her leadership role that directly affects all vital sectors.
On the same topic, Mrs. Khawla Ahmed Alhosani further added that the structure of the Emarati school reflects the extent the extent of care nd support that the wise leadership offers to the Emarati female gender and the urge for the women to join and excel in the various fields at the Ministry of Education to prove their capabilities, ameliorate their performance and take part in raising a leading and promising generation.
Mrs. Al Houssani also assured that the Ministry provides peculiar attention to the investment in humans through its 2017-2021 strategy of training and developing leaders to innovative intellectual and cultural skills , with the objective to prepare a qualified team of distinctive leadership skills in the Ministry of Education. In this regard, it is important to mention that the Emarati Woman has secured distinctive leadership and supervisory positions in especially sevice and technical fields. This is highly recognized in the rising of the percentage of women working in the Ministry of Education to 75% of the existing team.
To support the same, Aisha Yousef Al Ali commenced her participation quoting the late father and leader of the nation H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan “ Nothing makes me more happy than witnessing the Emarati woman occupy a distinctive role in society and secure the stature well deserved by her.” This is a clear reflection of the support of the government to the role of the Emarati Woman in all aspects and empowering her in all fields , considering her a main pillar of the motherland and an effective partner and contributor in making a better future, as She has proved no limits to her ambition with an outstanding competencies and capabilities in serving the country in various fields and since the founding of the Emirates till this date and to the far future.
In his turn, Mr. Hamad Abdulrahman Alaydaroos , and on behalf of the motherland and nation, extended a message of thankfulness and gratitude to all mothers who have put up all their time and effort to the well upraising of their children, to the female teachers who have worked hard to educate generations, to the lady doctors who have contributed in curing and saving lives and to every woman in the Emarati society or all services rendered. Mr. Al Aydous further stressed that the Emarati leadership had set stage for each and every ambitious woman to leave her imprint in all fields and aspects in a society where the culture is female encouraging and the woman possess potential and enthusiasm.
